Abducted Indian Priest in Yemen pleads Indian Government

Aden: Father Tom Uzhunnalil, a priest from Kerala, who was abducted last year in Aden, Yemen has appealed for help in the video recording aired by Yemeni news website.

Last year in March, after an attack on a home care in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden, by four gunmen barging in pretending to be residents, killed four Indians Nuns, two Yemeni female staff members, eight Elderly residents and a guard and abducted Father Tom, who comes from Kottayam in Kerala.

So far none of the groups have taken the responsibility of the attack, but Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, President of Yemen said it’s a terrorist act.

Father Tom as seen in the video in not a very healthy condition, slowly speaks in English saying, “They are treating me well to the extent they are able”.

“My health condition is deteriorating quickly and I require hospitalisation as early as possible,” he added in the recording carried by Aden Time (www.aden-tm.net) news website.

“My dear family people, do what you can to help me be released. Please, please do what you can to help to get me released. May God bless you for that” pleaded Father Tom in the video.

The Kidnappers with their demands, had contacted the Indian Government Authorities several times and their responses were very,very, poor said Father Tom.

He also said, the kidnappers contacted the Catholic bishop in Abu Dhabi in United Arab Emirates but the response was “not encouraging”, as reported in DailyHunt.
