Agenda of PDP, BJP alliance has failed in J-K: NC

Jammu : The National Conference on Tuesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of creating a constitutional crisis in Jammu and Kashmir by not forming a government and said the time has now come for fresh elections to take place in the state.

“The BJP-PDP has created a constitutional crisis in the state. It is for them to decide that they want to form the government or not. But if they don’t want to form the government then they should convey the same, so that the Governor can dissolve the assembly and we can have fresh elections,” National Conference leader Devendra Rana told the media here.

“Their agenda of alliance has failed and I feel the time has come that fresh election take place in the state,” he added.

Asserting that the BJP and PDP have a mandate to form the government in state, Rana said that both parties should do the same without playing with peoples’ mandate.

“The NC is fully ready to go in the elections. People know that only NC can rule the state in the best possible way,” he added.

More than three weeks after the death of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, the stalemate over government formation in Jammu and Kashmir continued with the PDP and BJP hardening their stand on continuing their alliance. (ANI)
