AP CM inaugurates Mondelez’s multi-category food campus at Sri City

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu launched the commercial operations of the Rs 1,000-crore first phase manufacturing unit of Mondelez India Foods Pvt., Ltd., at Sri City on Monday.

On his arrival at helipad, the Chief Minster was given a rousing reception by C. Sriniraju, Chairman, Sri City and Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director along with Sidharth Jain, District Collector, Chittoor.

The colourful event took place in the distinguished presence of Chandrababu Naidu, Daniel Myers, Executive Vice President, Integrated Supply Chain, Mondelez International, Maurizio Brusadelli, EVP & President, Asia Pacific, Mondelez International, and Chandramouli Venkatesan, Managing Director, Mondelez India Foods Private Limited and several other dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu Naidu said, “We’re delighted that one of the world’s largest food companies preferred Sri City for setting up its largest facility in Asia Pacific in Sri City.”

Appreciating the vision and hard work of Ravindra Sannareddy and Sriniraju in transforming the area into a model industrial park, Mr. Naidu said,”I have no doubt in stating that Sri City would emerge as one of the best model in the world”. He said that both Mondelez and Sri City are lucky, as the former got world-class infrastructure support, the later could get investment from world’s largest chocolates company.”

Commenting on the occasion, Ravindra Sannareddy said,”We are very happy as Sri City has become the home for Mondelez’s largest plant in Asia-Pacific.  We are particularly happy as the plant would improve employment opportunities to locals.  A large number of farmers in Chittoor district would also be benefited, as the company uses huge quantity of milk, in addition to huge quantities of sugar for producing their products. The multi-category food campus, spread over 134 acres, will operate state-of-the-art Lines of the future and follow High-Performance Work Systems to drive production efficiencies, save energy, reduce emissions and promote community involvement.
