AP Govt increases salaries of outsourcing employees

The Andhra Pradesh Government on Tuesday decided to increase the salaries of all outsourcing employees. This move would put an additional burden of Rs. 90 crore on the State’s exchequer.

According to Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, the salaries would be increased with effect from 1st April this year. The outsourcing employees are primarily divided into three categories. The employees in first category, who used to get Rs. 6,700 per month, would now get Rs. 9,200. Similarly, those getting salaries of Rs. 8,400 will get Rs. 10,900. Likewise, the salaries in third category have been increased from Rs. 11,500 to Rs. 14,000 per month.

The minister said there were 20,506 contract employees in the State. He said that the services of 1,003 contract employees would be regularised by creating super-numery posts. (INN)
