AP govt will promote sports in a big way: CM Naidu

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said his government would promote sports in a big way by creating best infrastructure in all the districts.

Naidu, this evening flagged off the 5 km and 3 km run at the Ramakrishna beach here.

“The AP government will promote sports in a big way.

It would construct best sports stadiums all over the state to encourage the sports-person,” the Chief Minister said.

Naidu claimed that Visakhapatnam was the first city in the country to organise a night marathon. He said the state government had organised marathon at its new upcoming capital Amaravati and another marathon would be conduced at Tirupati.

Earlier, state sports minister flagged off 21 Km run organised by Vizag Steel while Visahapatnam Lok Sabha member K Haribabu flagged off a 10 kms run.

Around 10,000 people participated in the runs.
