Launching world’s IT Giant Apple’s “Technology Development Center” at Waverock IT Park here, a delighted Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today asked the company to set up its own campus in Hyderabad and offered all support to it for its future plans.
Along with IT Minister KT Rama Rao, Apple CEO Tim Cook and others, KCR urged the tech giant to consider setting up of their own campus in the city and promised all support.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister stated it is proud to see that the new Apple facility of mapping will offer job opportunities to some 4,000 persons. The Apple Center will manufacture I-Phone, IPad, Mac Computers, Apple watches and related maps. Earlier, Tim Cook had a meeting with Chief Minister before inaugurating the new facility.
Tim Cook said India is unparalleled country and he likes the vibrancy of its people. Cook also said that he also loved the informality in the city and like the culture and history as lovely and learned a lot. “We produced products for the betterment of peoples’ lives”. KTR said Hyderabad became home to the largest tech development center outside United States of America.
KTR, who created a sensation, disclosed that Apple’s foray into Hyderabad itself is a big news to adore. The Apple added to the world class giants of Microsoft, Google, Amazon and other giants that turned the city a global destination, he said and asked Tim to open its own center here. He also evinced interest to partner with Apple in developing innovation led start-up as the city already have large start up incubation facilities like T-Hub, promoted under the Public Private Partnership.
The State government will provide land and other facilities to the Apple company campus, as was done by the previous government in case of Microsoft in the late nineties. Microsoft has its largest technology development centre spread across 56 acres in the city. Sources said, Apple will have a key core team of 160 experts located in Hyderabad facility, which will have a total of 4000 to 5000 personnel comprising software engineers and others working by year end or January next.
