Army successfully test fires 300-km range Brahmos

Pokhran (Rajasthan): The army on Saturday successfully test-fired the 300-km-range Brahmos supersonic land attack cruise missile at Pokhran in Jaisalmer.

Army spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Ojha said the missile was test fired at around 8.30 am met all the mission objectives.

A mobile autonomous launcher deployed in full configuration with mobile command post at the range launched the missile.

Senior Army and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) officials were also present at the launch.

The army has already inducted three regiments of Brahmos, while the land-attack version of Brahmos has been operationalised in the army in 2007.
