Avoid lavish expenses in Muslim marriages as this is anti-Islamic

Lucknow: In order to avoid extravaganza in Muslim marriages, Muslim scholars of Shaharanpur have unanimously decided to boycott all such marriages in which music and dance are arranged.
Maulana Qari Syed Ishaq Guara convened a meeting at his residence in Saharanpur, UP, in which a decision was taken to persuade Muslim community not to encourage ‘band-baaja’, ‘naach-gaana’ and dowry since all these acts are anti-Islamic.
He told the newsmen that Muslims marriages are now being held with extravagant expenses and hence an appeal has been issued to boycott all such marriage. Such steps are essential to mould the minds of younger generation for preventing such trends.

It may be noted that Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily has launched a campaign against extravagant expenses in Muslim marriages and he has issued an appeal to the Muslims to serve only one dish and a sweet in weddings. This campaign is getting popularity in Hyderabad and in South India.
