Avoid using pellet guns: Rajnath Singh

New Delhi: The Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday appealed to the security forces to refrain from using pellet guns in Kashmir and also requested the people to help restore normalcy in Valley.

Rejecting any third party intervention on Kashmir, Rajnath Singh asked Pakistan not to interfere in India’s internal affairs.

Around 50 people have been killed and over 5000 injured in 16 days of unrest, triggered by the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani. Rajnath told “As far as the Government of India is concerned, I want to make it clear that we don’t just want need-based ties, but to build an emotional relationship with Kashmir.” Meanwhile, the separatists extended the call for strike till July 29 and curfew-like situation continued in four districts of South Kashmir.
