Ayesha Meera case: Asad Owaisi breaks silence on Satyam’s acquittal

Hyderabad: AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi urged the state and Central governments to set up a mechanism that can ensure accountability for police officers, for lapses in investigation and booking innocents in offences. He was reacting to the acquittal of Satyam Babu in the Ayesha Meera murder case.

According to a report published in Deccan Chronicle the Hyderabad MP said that as long as there was no such mechanism in place, no one can put a stop to cases like Satyam Babu who suffered for years.

He lamented that no party has tried to make investigation officers be held accountable whenever the court found fault with them or made adverse observations against them.

Mr. Owaisi termed Satyam Babu’s case as a classic case for making officers accountable. It’s high time that political parties chalk out a strategy to deal with such cases where lives of innocent youngsters are ruined when the police make them scapegoats in cases, he observed.
