B-town raises voice for `innocent` horse Shaktimaan

New Delhi: Don’t hurt innocent animals! B-town is showing its rage over the incident that took place on Monday, wherein Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Mussoorie, Ganesh Joshi, mercilessly thrashed a police horse named Shaktimaan during a protest against Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat for “misuse” of funds.

Veteran actress Hema Malini took to her Twitter handle and shared the picture of the injured horse. Along with it, she wrote, “I can’t believe anyone can do ths to an innocent animal! It’s inhuman & shld be condemned. Thk God it has survived!”

Malini, later, tweeted, “I’m told there is no need for amputation.Ths was a real danger for the poor animal!God is indeed merciful. But the culprit has to be punished.”

Meanwhile, sharing the same picture, actress Alia Bhatt wrote, “This is beyond disgusting!!!!! How can we let this happen???? Can we not even spare animals now??” which was followed by her tweet, “Animals don’t have a voice! We have to be their voice.. We can by no means tolerate this!!! #Dehradun it’s tragic and really shameful..”

Talking on the incident, Rishi Kapoor tweeted, “Appropriate action should be taken against that MLA for doing this. Appalled to see this act of barbarism. Shameful!”

The horse on Tuesday was operated upon for around four and a half hours by a group of 10 doctors. It suffered multiple fractures during the incident. (ANI)
