BJP asks Cong to act against Harish Rawat

New Delhi: BJP today asked Congress to take action against former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat who was summoned by CBI for questioning over a sting video in which he was purportedly seen offering allurement to rebel party MLAs.

“Congress talks about morality of others. If it has morality, it should act against Rawat. By trying to bribe his own party MLAs, he has brought shame to democracy.

“It is a clear case of corruption. Law is taking its own course,” party’s media in-charge Shrikant Sharma said reacting to CBI’s move to call him for questioning.

With the Supreme Court hearing the matter of President’s rule imposed in the state, he said the party will act in the best interest of Uttarakhand and in accordance with whatever verdict the court gives.
