BJP critical of TRS Education Policy

Expressing unhappiness over Education policy of the TRS government, BJP Telangana president Dr K Laxman today alleged that TRS government was ignoring interests of the students, which came to power after their sacrifices.

Addressing a dharna at Indira Park organised by BJP Yuva Morcha demanding release of funds for fee imbursement, he said Chief Minister KCR has failed to fulfill the promises, who had assured before elections that one member of each family would be provided a government job. He also alleged that the State government was protecting the interests of corporate educational institutions whereas it was compromising with the interests of students by not releasing funds for their free imbursement.

Lakshman said the State government remained adamant and deprived about 14 lakh poor students of their right to education as they are unable to continue their studies and pay fees in private educational institutes. Criticizing the education policy of the State government, the state BJP chief accused the government of not taking interest in maintaining standard of education in the State. He said the State literacy rate came down to 57 per cent compared to Bihar State’s 60 per cent.

The BJP leader also said the TRS government had promised free education from KG to PG. But neither it formulated a policy paper nor it has any concept on this issue. The State government should immediately release funds for fee imbursement before the students come on the roads, Laxman warned. (NSS)
