The Telangana BJP today urged the election commission to take precautionary steps in future elections in the state, as people of the city have expressed apprehensions on the system adopted for GHMC elections.
Speaking to media after felicitating four new BJP corporators in the state office here party’s floor leader and MLA Dr K Laxman said people have expressed doubts after going through the voting pattern and the system including EVMs. They said after going through voting pattern, BJP felt it should have registered double digit victory. The people also have apprehension on the results of GHMC, Laxman said.
The BJP leader alleged that GHMC elections were not conducted democratically, if we tale note of the process initiated by the ruling party right from deletion of voters, delimitation of wards and reservation process.
The party after analyzing the GHMC election results, decided to further strengthen organizationally right from polling booth, Laxman said.(NSS)
