BJP wants TS Assembly session for 15 days

BJP senior leader G. Kishan Reddy on Saturday demanded that the session of Telangana State Legislative Assembly, being held on August 30 to ratify the GST Bill, be extended for 15 days.

Addressing a press conference after assuming charge as the party’s floor leader in Assembly, Kishan Reddy said that the Assembly session should be held for at least 15 days to enable discussion on various important issues. He said that there should be discussion on crop loan waiver scheme, formation of new districts, deteriorating condition of State’s economy, agrarian crisis, fee reimbursement and the agreement with Maharashtra Government on irrigation projects on Godavari River.

Kishan Reddy also accused Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of intimidating opposition parties. He said it was the responsibility of the government to reply to the criticism by opposition parties. Instead of coming up with clarifications, the TRS Government has been threatening to put the opposition leaders in jail. He alleged that KCR wants to wipe off opposition using force. However, he said BJP leaders were not afraid of going to jail on public issues.

The BJP leader also demanded the Chief Minister to announce official celebration of Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17. (INN)
