Cardamom prices fall on muted demand

New delhi: Cardamom brown prices fell by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today owing to easing demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.

Increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on the cardamom brown prices.

Cardamom brown-Jhundiwali and Kanchicut prices declined by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 780-790 and Rs 850-1,060 per kg, respectively.

Marketmen said low demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks, mainly pulled down cardamom prices.

Ajwain (per kg) 125-180, black pepper (per kg) 680-800, betel-nut (kg) 250-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 780-790 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 850-1,060.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,375-1,475, cardamom (colour robin) 1,330-1,350, cardamom bold 1,380-1,400, cardamom extra (bold) 1,500-1,515 and cloves 575-700.
