Charminar Pedestrian Project will be completed soon: KTR

Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minisiter K. Tarakarama Rao on Friday assured that the Telangana Government would complete the Charminar Pedestrian Project (CPP) within six months.

Speaking to media person after inspected the CPP works at Charminar, the minister said efforts would be made to expedite the completion of the project. He said a meeting would be held with the local shop owners and public representatives to resolve their grievances. He also assured that all the hawkers would be rehabilitated. He informed that the GHMC’s South Zone office would be shifted to a new building in Chandrayangutta and the present office, Sardar Mahal, would be converted into a Museum. He also proposed a food court at Charminar.

KTR said all measures would be taken to restore the lost glory of Charminar. He said Rs. 35 crore have been sanctioned for the CPP Project.

GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, MIM MLAs Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri and Ahmed Balala, Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy and other senior officials were also present. (INN)
