Chetan Bhagat’s tweet on Junaid vs Amarnath attack triggers debate

NEW DELHI: Chetan Bhagat does it again! In the latest, the bestselling author who likes to stir things from time to time took to Twitter and shared a controversial post on Amarnath terror attack.

Referring to the murder of a 16-year-old Hafiz Junaid on a local train near Ballabhgarh, Chetan Bhagat tweeted “When Junaid dies, media says he was killed for being Muslim.So why not say those killed in #AmarnathTerrorAttack were killed for being Hindu”.

The controversial tweet evoked several reactions on social media. The writer also gets slammed by renowned journalists Rajdeep Sardesai and Rana Ayyub.

Sardesai, the anchor of India Today group tweeted, “Yes, Mr Bhagat: we will say that Amarnath pilgrims killed are Hindus. Now please offer a solution to communal hatred to end the killings?”

Journalist Rana Ayyub also slam Bhagat saying, “also bhakat ji, since you are so keen on the faith , the driver who saved 50 yatris was a muslim. You may ignore this.”

“Chetan, as a friend I must ask you, do you think that this tweet helps our country and makes the world better in any way? Spread peace, brother,” tweeted Anirban Blah.
