Hyderabad: CMO has concentrated on the complaints received from various corners about the corruption prevailing in Wakf Board. It is said that no work could be done in Wakf Board without giving bribe. In Qazat section there are a lot of complaints. However, Wakf Board is making an attempt to introduce online registration and issue of marriage certificate. It is reported that agents are receiving money for issuing marriage certificate within 24 hours.
CEO of Wakf Board, Mr. Mohammed Asadullah admitted that there is corruption in Qazat section. He further told that Secretary of Wakf Board, Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel had directed Wakf Board to install CCTV cameras in all the sections but the employees of Wakf Board prevented this to happened. ACB officials have an eye on Wakf Board. CEO of Wakf Board is tightlipped on the explanation sought by CMO. He further told that if need be, help from ACB officials would be sought.
It is reported that the employees of Wakf Board enjoy the patronage of an officer who claims to be a class mate of Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Secretary of Dept. of Minorities Welfare. Unless Secretary takes stern action, corruption could not be eradicated in Wakf Board.
