Competent Authority AP Waqf Board Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal’s term expires

Hyderabad: Competent Authority of Andhra Pradesh Waqf Board Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal’s term has expired and government plans to extend his term. It must be noted that after the bifurcation of the state, Andhra Pradesh government appointed Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal (IPS) as Director Minority Welfare and Competent Authority of Waqf Board. During his office he played important role in protection of several Waqf properties in Andhra Pradesh.

According to sources the file regarding extension of Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal’s term awaits government’s approval and orders are likely to be issued soon. Sources said that Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal will be elevated to Inspector General Rank from Deputy Inspector General Rank and he is likely to be deputed on the same key post. He extended remarkable services as Special Officer Waqf Board Andhra Pradesh. He not only protected several Waqf properties but also took action against mutavallis involved in irregularities.
