Conductor locks Bengaluru girl in bus for 45 minutes, arrested

Bengaluru: A student of Bengaluru’s design school spent harrowing 45 minutes in a BMTC bus after a crew member, along with a few policemen and a mob, allegedly locked her inside the bus near Yelahanka police station.

The crew, encouraged by the policemen and mob, allegedly told the woman they would release her only if her friend, who had fled after a clash with the conductor, returns.

Rhea Ahuja, a resident of Yelahanka, and her friend, Ojasvi Singh, boarded a BMTC bus. On her Facebook page wall, Ahuja said:

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) PS Harsha on Friday said they have arrested the conductor on the basis of FIR filed by the girl.

He further said the conductor has also lodged a complaint against the girl and investigation is going on.
