Congress condemns Kavitha’s remarks on Rahul Gandhi

Deputy CLP leader in Assembly T Jeevan Reddy has strongly condemned the remarks of TRS MP K Kavitha wherein she advised AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to take a holy dip in Godavari River to cleanse himself of sins committed towards farmers.

Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here on Saturday, Jeevan Reddy said Kavitha’s statement clearly indicates that TRS was trying to get closer to BJP-led NDA by criticising Rahul Gandhi. He reminded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, along with his family members including Kavitha, met AICC President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi after the formation of Telangana. Kavitha herself should have advised Rahul Gandhi when she met him along with his father, he said.

Jeevan Reddy said more than 1,000 people committed suicide demanding statehood for Telangana and TRS was directly responsible for those deaths. First TRS needs to clean itself from those sins, he said. (INN)
