Corruption-free governance is main agenda: UP Govt

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prashad Maurya today made it clear that his government’s main agenda would be to provide the people of the state with a corruption-free and responsive governance.

Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, Maurya said the people having given the party a thumping majority as they were disgusted with the previous government.

He further asserted that the newly formed state government must rise to the occasion while taking the mandate as a challenge to deliver.

Maurya announced some major decisions that aim to create “new structure of progress” in Uttar Pradesh. Here are some:-

-Besides waiving off farmer’s loans up to Rs one lakh, the Uttar Pradesh Government will now start buying potatoes from the farmers at Rs 487 per quintal.

– E-tendering system will be there so as to make the system more transparent.

-Power cut is one of the biggest problems in Uttar Pradesh. So, burnt transformers will be replaced within twenty-four hours in urban areas and forty-eight hours in rural areas.

– Due to the world-wide demand, the government will also work to improve the packaging of fruits and vegetables.

-The government has issued instruction to make Uttar Pradesh roads pothole free by June 15.

In the recently held polls in the state, BJP had bagged 312 seats, and its allies 13, taking the alliance’s tally to 325 in the 403-member Assembly.
