Cow protection again: Rakshaks severely injure two Hindu men

Greater Noida: Gau Rakshaks mistakenly thrashed two Hindu men, suspecting them as Muslims. The incident happened when two innocent men Jabar Singh (35) and Bhoop Singh (45), residents of Sirsa Manjhipur bought a cow and a calf from Mehndipur village.

While peacefully returning home, they took rest under the shed of a tree, then cow protectors from nowhere sought them and brutally injured them, TOI reported.

The vigilantes did not give reason while attacking them. The rakshaks fled when these two men shouted that they were not Muslims and they were transporting the cows for the dairy purpose. They were critically injured and were left alone.

A local resident said that the incident took place on Thursday evening. “They were coming from the Mehndipur village with a cow and calf. They got tired on the way and sat by the trunk of a tree. Some BJP workers and cow vigilantes spotted the two persons and suspected them as Muslims. They called some more persons who attacked them without asking anything,” said Muazzam Khan, a local.

The injured were taken to the hospital and they got internally injured and had fractures. An FIR has been registered against Mahesh, Ashish, Ompal and other five members under Sections 147, 323, 504 and 506 of IPC. “The accused fled from the spot after the incident. We have launched a search to identify and arrest the attackers,” Ajay Kumar Sharma, SHO Jewar police station informed.
