NEW DELHI: A teenager from Pennsylvania resident, Lamyaa Alshehri’s conversation with her dad about removing her Hijab on twitter is winning followers al over the world on twitter.
The 17 year old girl texted her dad about thinking to remove her hijab after she received an anonymous text from someone telling her dad would get angry if she does so.
The girl was glad to see her dad’s response, when he replied her back saying “Sweetheart, that’s not my decision to make. That’s no man’s decision to make,” he tells her. “If it’s what you feel like you want to do, go ahead. I’ll support you no matter what,” he adds.
Lamya posted screenshots of her conversation with her dad on twitter saying “Since this is a mentality a lot of you seem to have,” !
She also tweeted she does not plan on removing her hijab. Her tweet received 3.2 million likes and 1.4 million retweets praising her dad, and also few of them talking about not all women have the liberty to do so.
