Delhi Police arrest woman trying to join IS


Patna: Kerala Police on Monday arrested a woman identified as Yasmin Muhammed hailing from Bihar. According to police sources, the 29-year-old woman and her four-year-old child were picked up by a police team led by Deputy SP Sunil Babu Kelothunkandy.

Police sources said that the woman was in touch with Rasheed even after he was reported missing. She was nabbed from Delhi airport and was brought to Kochi where she was questioned in detail and later taken to Kasargod. She was produced before Kasargod Magistrate Court which remanded her in judicial custody.

Police have registered cases against him under Section 38 and 39 of UAPA. Officials said that the woman was said to be the second wife of Rasheed and she reached Delhi airport to proceed to Kabul. Though she hailed from Bihar, police suspect that she was staying in Delhi for the last few months. Police have been tracking the communication of Abdul Rasheed after he was found to be the main person in the missing group.
