In a significant development, Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya today called on Governor ESL Narasimhan and apprised him that cancellation of old notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 will not bring any loss to the State government.
Dattatraya is understood to have informed the Governor that the decision of cancellation of high value currency notes would not cause loss to the State government. His remarks came at a time when Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has reportedly expressed displeasure at the decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi scrapping the notes. KCR learnt to have expressed his dismay at the Centre’s decision which has collapsed the real estate sector causing about Rs 2000 crore to the State. The Union minister also discussed on other issues with the Governor. (NSS)
