Deputy CM inaugurates science exhibition

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Monday inaugurated the INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research), District level science exhibition – 2015, Hyderabad district, at the Progress High School in Chandu Lal Baradarari at Bhadurpura.

Nearly 700 children of 6th to 10th class from 350 schools (government and private) from six zones of Bhadurpura, Bandalaguda, Chairminar, Golkonda and Khairthabad are participating and displaying their innovative science projects in this three-day exhibition.

A jury under the chairmanship of Acharyya B. N.Reddy, Member, Dept. Of Science and Technology, Govt. Of India, along with 28 jury members comprising of Professors and Assistant Professors from distinguished institutions will select the winners by the end of the event.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy CM stressed the need to inculcate and encourage the scientific temper of our young minds so as to create a pool of scientists, which was the dream of Late. Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam. He also stressed the need and commitment of Telangana Government to improve the literacy level especially amongst the children from minority community in the state which has been on the lower side since many years. He also went around and interacted with children displaying their science projects and expressed his satisfaction and impressed at the talent of these young children from government and private schools of Hyderabad district.

MLC K.Janardhan Reddy, Hyderabad DEO M. Somi Reddy, District Science Officer G. Prabhakar, Progress Group of Institution Chairman Mirza Mohamad Ali Baig and other officials from education department and participating schools were also present. (INN)
