Deuba elected Nepali Congress PP leader

Kathmandu : Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba was elected the parliamentary party leader, defeating senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel.

Deuba polled 139 votes against Paudel’s 67, reports The Himalayan Times.

Deuba will become the party’s prime ministerial candidate as per the party tradition.

The Congress lawmakers had cast votes to elect their leader today.

The post was vacant since February 9 when the then party president and PP leader Sushil Koirala died. (ANI)
