Don’t mix up on schedule BSF-Rangers DG meet with NSA-level talks, says Parrikar

With the meeting between Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers DG from September 9 to 13 in New Delhi scheduled to continue, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said on Thursday that this meeting should not be mixed with the NSA-level talks, which was cancelled.

“These two meetings are not to be mixed up. The BSF and the Rangers talks happen on a regular basis if necessary, but the talks that happen between the governments of both the nation are a totally different matter,” Parrikar told the media here.

In the meeting, the BSF is likely to raise the issue of ceasefire violations, regular firing along the LoC, infiltrations and the number of villagers killed and injured by the Rangers.

The will be the first high-level meeting between the two nations after the last minute cancellation of the talks between the National Security Advisers on August 22. (ANI)
