Dr. Jalees Ansari acquitted in Hyderabad blasts case

Hyderabad Metropolitan Session Court on Monday acquitted Dr Jalees Ansari twenty two years after a series of blasts rocked Hyderabad. Dr. Jalees Ansari who is a BUMS doctor was arrested on the charges that he had masterminded bomb blasts at Abids, Humayunnagar police station, Gopalapuram railway reservation centre, Madina education centre and in AP Express on December 6 and 7, 1993, to mark the first anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition.

He was arrested from Mumbai in January 1994. On Monday, he was acquitted in all four cases pertaining to Hyderabad due to lack of evidence. Senior advocate of Nampally Criminal Court successfully pursued the case Dr. Jalees Ansari and his friends.
