Dr. Raj Bahadur Goud passes away

Hyderabad, October 8: This news will be read with extreme grief and sorrow that the Urdu lover, renowned trade union leader, senior communist leader and standard bearer of Hindu Muslim unity Dr. Raj Bahadur Goud passed away in the wee hours of Friday, October 7. His body will be kept for last glimpse at Makhdoom Bhawan, Himayat nagar till Saturday 9:30 am. Dr. Raj Bahadur Gaud was born on July 21, 1918 at Goulipura, Hyderabad. He completed his primary education from Mufeedul Anam, Dharmawant and Rifa-e-aam schools. He completed MBBS in 1943. He was elected as Rajya Sabha member in 1952.

Dr. Raj Bahadur Goud was the president of Anjuman Taraqi Urdu Andhra Pradesh. He was the founder member of Urdu model school, Urdu Arts College and Oriental Urdu College founded by Anjuman Taraqi Urdu.

Just a week before his death Raj Bahadur Goud donated generous contribution of 3 lakh rupees to Urdu Educational Trust.

His articles on Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Iqbal, Firaq Gorakhpuri, Majrooh Sultanpuri, Kaifi Azmi, Prem Chand etc. have been published in various literary magazines.

He served Urdu Hall Anjuman Taraqi Urdu and institutions associated with it till his last breath.
