Enhancement of Hajj quota – Petition submitted to PM

Hyderabad: Mr. Laiq Ali, Vice President of Minorities Cell of BJP requested the PM during his visit to Hyderabad for the enhacement of Hajj pilgrims’ quota for Telangana State. He pointed out that since Hajj pilgrims are not being sent from Iran, these seats could be allotted to India. Govt. of India allotted an additional quota of 20000. He mentioned that State Hajj Committee of Telangana received 17291 applications whereas the State quota is only 2532. Many Hajj pilgrims have been disappointed since they have not been selected.
