Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandraeskhar Rao today directed the Minister and officials concerned to complete Mission Bhagiratha works on a war-footing.
The Chief Minister held a high-level review meeting with officials and asked them to see that the women in rural areas should not get on to roads to fetch drinking water. The scheme should complete before the deadline and there is no room for dereliction of the works, he said.
The water scheme is KCR’s brainchild aimed at supplying safe and purified drinking waters to the rural areas. The government was spending a whopping Rs 40,000 crore for the project. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched it at Komatibanda in Medak district in August last. (NSS)
