Fake it, if you can’t make it: 450 fake CEOs brought to sit in Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2017

AHMEDABAD: As many as 450 school municipal school teachers paraded as fake CEOs to impress international delegates at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017.

According to a report published in Gujarat Samachar on Wednesday claimed that several aided school teachers were assigned ‘special duty’ and were told to pretend as corporate tycoon and CEOs.

Mumbai Mirror news reports that teachers from Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Patan and Sabarkantha were trained for two days at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, the venue of the Vibrant Gujarat summit in etiquette to behave like a CEO.

Collector ordered the primary and middle school teachers to come well dressed. They were given “all access” ID cards so that organiser did not restrict their entry.

The teachers on Vibrant duty were made to sit in the middle rows to fill seats “reserved” for business honchos to make the feeling that the VGGS is attracting large number of CEOs from across the nation.

Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani who was arrested from his house dubbed the Summit as “biggest fraud of the century”.

“The police arrested me after I announced that I would disrupt the Vibrant Gujarat summit – the fraud of the century. Farmers’ leaders, Patidar leaders and members of the Dalit community were all arrested. If we want to stage a peaceful demonstration, there’s no scope. If we ask Modi ji, how many jobs you could create through the Vibrant Gujarat summit, there is no answer. If we ask why fertile lands of farmers are handed over to industries, then they dub us as anti-development…” said a statement on social media attributed to Mevani.

Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia demanded an inquiry into the incident and opined that an FIR should be registered for showing fake development and for fooling and deceiving people of Gujarat with such acts.
