Sikar : Hundreds of farmers today staged a demonstration here against the hike in power tariff and demanded that the government roll it back.
The farmers held a demonstration at a mandi and took out a rally before handing over a representation to the district collector.
President and Kisan Sabha and former CPI(M) MLA Amra Ram addressed the farmers and accused the BJP government of betraying farmers and youths of the state.
He said that the government did not provide any relief to farmers and instead hiked the power tariff last year which has put a burden on farmers and people.
He handed over a 15-point representation addressed to the chief minister to the district collector K B Gupta.
