Five day 5th Edition of India Aviation from today at Begumpet Airport

Hyderabad: After the Grand success of India Aviation 2014, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India jointly with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is organizing the 5th Edition of India Aviation from March 16-20 here in Hyderabad at Begumpet Airport.
The five day biennial civil aviation show will be kicked off on 16th. It will be formally inaugurated by Pranab Mukherjee, President of India, in the presence of E.S. Lakshmi Narsimhan, Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. K. Chandrashekar Rao, Chief Minister of Telangana, Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, Chief Minister of AP and Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Government of India.
Pranab Mukherjee will formally inaugurate the India Aviation show on 16th March at 3pm.
The Inaugural will be graced by R. N. Choubey, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviations, Govt. of India and Harshavardhan Neotia, President, FICCI.
Among other dignitaries who will also grace the inaugural function include Andrzej Adamczyk, Minister of Infrastructure & Construction, Poland; Dato’ Seri Liow Tiong Lai, Minister of Transport, Malaysia, Alexander Dobrindt, Federal Minister, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy, Department IV D 2, Aviation, Germany; Ms. Susan Kurland, Assistant Secretary, USA; H .E. Theme of this year’s show is “Indian Civil Aviation Sector: Potential as Global Manufacturing & MRO Hub”. India Aviation Show 2016 is India’s largest and globally acknowledged event on Civil Aviation informed Anil Srivastava, Joint Secretary Civil Aviation India is on the journey to become the third largest aviation market in the world by 2020 after USA and China.
India is one of the fastest growing aviation markets and currently the ninth largest civil aviation market in the world. More than 85 international airlines operate to India and 5 Indian carriers connect over 40 countries. India is one of the least penetrated air markets in the world with 0.04 trips per capita per annum as compared to 0.3 of China and more than 2 in the USA.
The civil aviation industry is on a high growth path. It has registered an impressive growth of 13% & 10% CAGR for passenger & cargo throughput respectively for the period FY 2003-2013. The aviation sector is experiencing dramatic growth across the board owing to opening up of the airport infrastructure to private sector participation; growth in business & leisure travel; increase in inflows of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI); emergence of LCCs/new carriers; large-scale investments in the airport infrastructure; and growth in air-cargo industry.
India plans to be a global aviation hub and one of the top 3 aviation markets worldwide by 2020. By 2020, passenger traffic at India Airport is expected to increase to 450 million from 159.3 million in 2012-2013. The aviation sector is likely to see investments totaling USD 12.1 billion during 12th Five Year Plan, out of which USD 9.3 billion is expected to come from the private sector. 200 low-cost airports are planned to be built in the next 20 years to connect tier-II and tire-III cities. USD 1.3 billion is planned to be spent on non-metro projects during 2013-17 mainly focusing on the modernization and up gradation of airports, Anil Srivastava added.
Speaking on the highlights of the India Aviation show this year, Anil Srivasatava said more than 200 major participants are expected to take part in the show. Leading Aircrafts, Helicopter Manufacturers like Boeing, Airbus, Textron, Embraer, Gulfstream. Dassault, Agusta Westland, Bell Helicopters, Russian Helicopters, Airbus Helicopters will also take part in the show. A 320 Neo is just made its debut in India, the first eco-friendly Aircraft built by European aircraft major Airbus. Which was just delivered to budget carrier IndiGo will be on display. IndiGo is also the first airline among Asian airlines to have inducted the latest aircraft from Airbus. The A320 Neo fleet is said to set a benchmark by significantly reducing the impact on environment and lead the way to a more sustainable mode of flying, Airbus claims it to be fuel efficient by 15 per cent.

More than 200 exhibitors from 12 countries will be participating in the event. There are 200 stalls, 14 chalets with 20,000 sq. mts. area for the event. A one day conference on Indian Civil Aviation Sector: Potential as Global Manufacturing Hub will be held on 17th March at the Begumpet Airport. The Conference on Civil Aviation sector will focus on policy issues and business aspects will be held concurrent to the exhibition. Eminent speakers, policy makers and experts will address the conference.
Considering the success of CEO Forum held during India Aviation 2016, yet again a platform is provided to CEOs of leading companies of Aviation Sector for an interactive session with the Minister for Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju.

The first three days 16, 17 and 18th March is only for Business Visitors. The General Visitors are allowed only on 19th and 20th March. The entry is through tickets. The entry tickets can be booked on www.bookmyshow.com. The general tickets are priced at Rs 300/- and Business at Rs 700/-. The tickets will also be available for the general public at all branches of Axis Bank.
There will be two sessions for general visitors on 19th & 20th March. One from 10 AM to 1 PM and other from 2 PM to 5 PM. The visitors who buy tickets as general visitors on 19th and 20th are allowed to go in the specific session and allowed to spend that much time only.
Parking arrangements have been made at Begumpet airport Cargo Area. No private transportation will be allowed inside the Begumpet airport premises during the general public days. No children below 18 years will be allowed on the business days, however all are welcome on the days for general public i.e. 19th & 20th March
Visitors only can see static flights from 30 feet away from barricade. No visitor is allowed to board any aircraft. The right to allow a business visitor to see the aircraft from inside solely lies with the exhibitor. General visitors will not be allowed to enter any planes on display.
General visitors are requested not to carry food, water, eatables, big hand bags, purses, any liquids, banned items etc. inside the show strictly for security reasons. It is desirable that visitors do not carry mobile phones as well to avoid congestion. Sufficient arrangements are made for food and water inside the venue. Public are also informed that they will be able to view different aircrafts from a barricaded distance. They cannot & should not expect to enter any plane. All the security procedures of any operating airport will be strictly adhered to at the Begumpet Airport.
The primary objective of the event is Business in nature, to attract investments in the Aerospace sectors, into the country in general, & Telangana in particular. This is not a Mela. The exhibition timings are 10 AM to 5 PM. The exhibition concludes on Sunday, March 20. Public are requested to cooperate with the organizers to make the show a big success. (NSS)
