Five injured in clash between two groups over construction work

New Delhi: Five persons, including a former village head, were injured in a group clash over construction work in Parsoli in Muzaffarnagar, police said on Wednesday.

Supporters of former village head, Satendar Saini, clashed with those of the current head Haji Ilyas. The groups resorted to stone pelting, injuring five persons, said police.

The injured- Saini, Subhash Chand, Praveen, Dharampal and Naeem-have been hospitalised.

A case has been lodged by both parties at the Budhana police station. Security has been tightened to thwart untoward incidents, police said.
