New Delhi: A five-year-old was allegedly raped by a 40-year-old in New Delhi’s Uttam Nagar area on Friday.
The accused has been arrested by the Delhi Police.
The minor, who has been admitted in Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, is critically injured.
Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal went to meet her.
Maliwal has requested Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung for a High Level Committee to prevent rapes.
“Girl’s really small. Bled a lot. Rapist 40 year old, arrested. Again request LG for High Level Committee, daily decisions to prevent rape. Until highest level in Central, Delhi government sit together, take weekly decision against rape, Delhi will be Rape Capital. Pl LG form this committee,” she wrote in a series of tweets.
