Mumbai: A Mumbai based IT employee Bhalakia had ordered a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on e-commerce site and was delivered a Nirma Soap instead. A case of of cheating has been registered against Flipkart at Mumbai’s Malabar Hill police station after it delivered Nirma soap instead of Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
Minutes after delivery boy left, Bhalakia opened the box and found a soap bar and an Android phone charger inside. I telephoned the deliveryman immediately. He was 10 minutes away from my home but said I would have to call Flipkart’s customer care number to lodge a complaint,” said Bhalakia.
When Bhalakia called the customer care service of the Flipkart, the e-commerce site said his complaint was not genuine, following which he registered an FIR under Section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Indian Penal Code. After the case was registered Flipkart refunded the money to Bhalakia.
