Focus on easing traffic, corrupt-free rule: Mayor

After taking over as the Mayor of GHMC, Bonthu Rammohan today said his priorities are to focus on easing traffic snarls, ensure corrupt free governance and to provide basic amenities to the people.
At his maiden media conference, along with his deputy Md Baba Fasiyudddin at the civic body, Rammohan asserted that they will live up to the expectations of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on city development and tackling the issues. “KCR and KTR have given us great responsibility and efforts will be made in that direction”, he said. Rammohan also said he would involve people in the development process and take along all the corporators for addressing the major issues.
The Mayor said they would replicate the statehood spirit and enthusiasm to develop the city by involving people for transforming Hyderabad into a global city. Extending thanks to KCR and KTR for giving them the coveted posts, the new Mayor stated he would follow the guidelines for the city development and addressing the problems. “First of all, we have to understand the issues plaguing the city and then take a decision”, an elated Rammohan asserted.
Rammohan made it clear that in recognition to their committed services in the party and during statehood movement, KCR gave them the top posts. A perfect plan will be implemented to check traffic problem, which is more as people from districts and other States coming to the city which is being a center of employment. Since most of the 150 corporators are young, combined efforts will be made to address the issues of the city, he added. (NSS)
