New Delhi: On the occasion of 111th birthday of the former President of India, Mr. Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, floral tributes were offered by President of India, Vice President of India, former PM, Dr. Manmohan Singh and Ms. Sonia Gandhi, President of AICC.
It may be mentioned that the birthday of former President is celebrated as the National Solidarity Day. Maulana Shabeer Nakshbandi, President of Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Memorial Committee organized a function in New Delhi yesterday. Paying rich tribute to the former President, President Pranab Mukherjee told that Mr. Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed was a great personality. He was an able administrator. He served the country without any discrimination. He had played an important role in freedom struggle. Ms. Sonia Gandhi in her message congratulated the organizers for celebrating his birthday as National Solidarity Day. She paid tributes to former President and said that he promoted secularism and communal harmony.
Former PM, Dr. Mahmood Singh offered floral tributes at the grave of Mr. Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed. He said that Mr. Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed had devoted his life for the nation. He spread the message of affection.
The founder of Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Committee highlighted the importance of National Solidarity Day. Present on this occasion were Dr. Parvez Ahmed and other members of the former President’s family. A large number of people also attended the function.
