GHMC providing medical facilities to sanitation workers: Commissioner

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is providing medical and health facilities to nearly 20,000 sanitation workers, claimed GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy.

The Commissioner, on Saturday, held a tele-conference with all the Additional, Zonal and Deputy Commissioners on various issues pertaining to the medical facilities to the sanitation workers. Besides providing medical benefits through ESI, the GHMC is also coordinating with the Indian Medical Association for better facilities. In this connection, the Commissioner has directed the Additional Commissioner (Health & Sanitation) to personally monitor this aspect.

Dr. Janardhan Reddy also directed the concerned officials to take proper care for involving the sanitation workers in Prime Ministers Suraksha Yojana Programme. He further desired that by November 30, with the help of the MEPMA officials, a detailed report must be submitted to initiate necessary action. (INN)
