GHMC sparing no efforts to make city world class: Mayor

Mayor B. Rammohan today said the strenuous efforts of the GHMC family consisting elected representatives and officials since the past three years developed the city on all fronts in conformity with the vision of the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao under the dynamic leadership of MA&UD Minister K.T.R.

The Mayor said the GHMC could reach high position in Swachh Bharath Mission and today the GHMC was adjudged as the fifth city in the world which was developing very fast in all fields with rapid growth. The Mayor hoisted the national flag at GHMC Head Office in connection with Telangana Formation Day where his deputy Baba Fasiuddin, Commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy and senior officials and staff were present. He said the GHMC was striving to make the city pollution-free with full of greenery and planning to plant around one crore saplings during Harithaharam program this year.

The Mayor said the GHMC has also taken up various innovative schemes like double bed room houses, SRDP Projects, beautification of lakes and so on. The GHMC is a nodal agency which was duly coordinating with various government heads of the departments conducting convergence meeting under one platform deriving good results in all development aspects using modern technology to make the city to that of world class, the Mayor said.

Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin said State Formation Day was being celebrated today only because of many leaders, who have sacrificed their lives for achievement of separate State. Right from the day one after the formation of separate State, the entire GHMC officials and public representatives were taking responsibility for overall development of the city as per the directions and vision of the Chief Minister.

Addressing the gathering, Commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy exhorted GHMC officials right from top to bottom to work hard with responsibility and make Swachh Hyderabad a grand success so that the city could attract more tourists.
