Ganesh festivities began in AP and Telangana on Monday with religious fervour and devotion. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and his wife Vimla Narasimhan started the festivities with special prayers at the famous Ganesha idol of Khairatabad.About 40,000 idols have been installed in public places in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad .
Like every year, the tallest idol has been installed in Khairatabad, the heart of the city. This year, the organisers have arranged 58-foot tall idol. About 200 CCTV cameras have been installed near the giant Ganesha. As many as 100 police personnel have been posted as part of the security arrangements. 25 sub inspectors, three inspectors and a official of DSP rank has been posted on the duty, sources said. (INN)
