Urdu Academy has received 913 applications in connection with government aid to Urdu Medium government and aided schools for purchasing infrastructure. Secretary Director Urdu Academy Prof. S A Shukoor told that applications have been submitted from all districts of Telangana and verification process is underway. Under the scheme each school will be released Rs. 50000 for providing various infrastructural facilities. Government had decided to release aid to 250 schools in the first phase. However later it decided to give aid to 500 schools. The government has introduced this scheme to improve standard of Urdu medium schools in Telangana.
