Makkah: Maj. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki, Spokesman for the Interior Ministry said that about 100000 troops from Elite Counterterrorism Unit, Traffic Police and Emergency Civil Defense Personnel are deployed for the safety of the massive Hajj Pilgrims at Hajj. He said that additional troops from the Army and National Guard are also made available.
Al-Turki said pilgrimage comes amid concerns over threats posed by terrorist groups. He said that militants cannot control even a centimeter anywhere in Saudi Arabia. This year more than 2 million Hajj pilgrims are expected from around the world.
