New Delhi: A 20-year-old girl was killed by her own mother in northeast Delhi’s Seelampur area on Sunday night after spotting her in bed with a tenant. The girl was scheduled to get married a day after the incident.
The tenant, Guddu, however managed to flee. The mother then allegedly smothered her with a pillow till she fell unconscious and then strangulated her till she died. Later she panicked and called her son,” a police officer said.
The victims father had died a few years ago and they lived off the rent they earned from Guddu.
The mother and son were arrested after the doctors spotted strangulation marks on the woman’s neck and called the police.
During their investigation it was revealed that Aasma’s marriage had been fixed with a Ghaziabad-based businessman and was supposed to take place on Sunday.
