Hospital forcibly discharges 7 year old rape victim before Yogi’s visit

Allahabad: The government hospital allegedly discharged a seven-year-old gang rape victim in Allahabad town just a day before Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to the city on Sunday.

The mother of the child accused the doctors at the Women’s Hospital of forcing her to take the victim home on Saturday saying that she was all right.

“The doctors had earlier told me that it would take several days for the minor to be all right and that she would have to be in the hospital for some more days,” she told DH.

The four suspects involved in the gang rape have been arrested by the police. They had allegedly taken the child to a secluded place and gang raped her. Her mother later had found her bleeding profusely and took her to the hospital. The doctors had said that the victim had suffered serious injuries in her inner parts after they had confirmed the rape.

Sources said that Adityanath on Sunday was on a visit to Allahabad and could visit the hospital as well. The doctors feared that he might meet the victim and her family there.

The Hospital authorities denied the allegations and said that the victim was discharged after her condition improved and it was felt that she did not require hospitalization.

Earlier also UP officials, apparently aiming to impress Adityanath, had distributed soaps, shampoos, and perfumes among members of ‘Mushar’ (Dalit) community in Kushinagar district and asked them to use the same before meeting the chief minister.
