Hyderabad to get enough water supply this summer

Hyderabad: Drinking water for citizens of Greater Hyderabad will be sufficient there is no need of worrying about it as Water and Sewerage Board managing director, M. Dana Kishore gave assurance of water reservoirs that are at a comfort level which is enough this summer.

According to Deccan Chronicle, last year Board could supply 355 million gallons of water whereas at present it is supplying 372 MGD. To monitor water supply special officers are appointed for this summer.

190 villages located Outer Ring Road will be getting drinking water supply projects proposed by Water Board.
The water had been diverted of Godavari to to Singur and Manjira systems at a cost of Rs 398 crore since supply of drinking water from Singur and Manjira has been stopped.

This will provide new reservoirs in Patencheru, Ramchandrapuram, and Quthbullapur.
To get budgetary support and to accord administrative sanction proposals had been submitted to the government.

Following the summer, the Pumpsets, borewells and sluice valves on pipeline are being repaired to provide water supply said Mr Dana Kishore

Almost all to face crisis
Areas like Kukatpally, Nacharam, Uppal, LB Nagar, Dilsukhnagar and JNTU which have more apartments will be the worst hit. Almost residential areas will have water problems in the summer.

Dammaiguda, Gachibowli and Madhapur also have water supply issues. The areas in the city like Balajinagar, Kukkatpally; Suraram Colony, Vanasthalipuram and Sainikpuri have good amount of groundwater.
